HI-CON DELIVERS BALCONIES TO PARKBYEN

Large-format UHPC parapet balconies.

ATTRACTIVE SURROUNDINGS

Parkbyen is located in a green area where city, life, and nature create attractive surroundings for the apartments.

The project consists of 5 towers of varying heights and is expected to be ready for occupancy later in 2020.

Behind the project is Søren Enggaard A/S, and Hi-Con will deliver 252 balconies in Ultra High Performance Concrete (UHPC), 106 of which are large corner balconies.

PATENTED UHPC

The raw material at Hi-Con is a patented Ultra High Performance Concrete, which was actually developed at Aalborg Portland in the 1980s. The material is infused with up to 19 million steel fibers per cubic meter, contributing to its exceptional strength.

With UHPC, Hi-Con is able to produce extremely thin elements, and practically anything is possible if it makes sense. Depending on the desired solution, UHPC solutions can often be cheaper than, for example, steel solutions and more optimal in use than traditional concrete for larger elements due to the lower weight. For over 30 years, UHPC has demonstrated astonishing properties in the hands of a team of experts who are passionate about pushing boundaries.

HI-CON'S ROLE

For Parkbyen, Hi-Con will deliver a total of 252 balconies with lengths ranging from 4.2 meters to 9.5 meters and widths up to 4.4 meters. 106 of these balconies are large corner balconies.

Two of the five towers will have 34 large corner balconies and 50 regular UHPC balconies from Hi-Con installed during weeks 27-31.
