A SYMBOL OF TEXEL’S CULTURAL IDENTITY

On the edge of Den Burg on the Island Texel in the Netherlands, Thijssehuis — a new social and cultural gathering point — is being constructed. The building, designed by DP6 Architectuurstudio, reflects the island’s atmosphere through its open and welcoming expression, as well as the use of natural materials and sun-faded colors.

DP6 Architectuurstudio has created a modern and compact structure consisting of three wooden frames above a light red base, topped with elegant, slender canopies. This base forms a solid yet aesthetically pleasing foundation for the building.

Hi-Con Nederland and Tomaello B.V. are responsible for the lightly pigmented "pink" base and the superslim canopies.
