URBAN CONSTRUCTION ON THE HARBOR FRONT

At Østre Havn in Aalborg, Denmark, lies the modern residential building "Siloen." This housing project is a reconstruction of the characteristic DLG-Silo and includes everything from youth housing and family homes to owner-occupied apartments.

While Himmerland Boligforening is the developer for the youth and family housing, A. Enggaard is the developer for the owner-occupied apartments.

The owner-occupied apartments have been equipped with balconies in Ultra High Performance Concrete (UHPC) from Hi-Con, providing the residents of the new DLG-Silo with spacious outdoor areas and a beautiful view over Limfjorden.

SLEEK BOX BALCONIES IN UHPC

The balconies consist of both "box elements" and "plate elements" in grey Ultra High Performance Concrete CRC i2 ®. The box elements measure approximately 4.5 meters in length, while the width varies between 1.7 - 2.5 meters and the height between 2.2 - 4 meters.

The plate elements, on the other hand, measure between 3.7 - 7.2 meters in length and between 1.7 - 2.5 meters in width.

Hi-Con has delivered a total of 37 box balconies and 10 plate balconies for the project.
