INNOVATIVE CHALLENGE
Being innovative and open to new challenges means that sometimes we, well, get challenged. This was especially true for this project, conceived by the Aarhus School of Architecture. Several years ago, Hi-Con was contacted and asked if we would participate in an experiment to create a large piece of artwork using topology-optimized structural design.
The project resulted in a 21-meter long, 8-meter wide, 3.5-meter high, and 19-ton heavy sculpture in light Ultra High Performance Concrete (UHPC) CRC i2®, consisting of six unique elements that were bolted and glued together on-site.
