MODERN CONSTRUCTION BY THE LIMFJORD

Along Norresundby's waterfront in Denmark, you will find Fjordtarnet – a distinctive and modern residential building that beautifully frames its surroundings. The building's clean lines are enhanced by the white facades, elegantly integrating it with the surrounding structures.

A hallmark of Fjordtarnet is the spacious, open balconies that form an integral part of the building's architecture. These balconies create a pattern both vertically and horizontally, offering residents an exceptional view of Aalborg's maritime environment.

Hi-Con has had the pleasure of supplying balconies, balcony walkways, columns, and wall elements in Ultra High Performance Concrete (UHPC) for the project.

MODERN BALCONY DESIGN IN UHPC

Hi-Con has delivered 40 identical balconies in Ultra High Performance Concrete CRC i2 for the low-rise building and 39 balconies in various designs for the tower in Nørresundby. The balconies are cast with a plate thickness between 85-125 mm.

In addition to the nearly 80 balconies, Hi-Con has supplied 34 balcony walkway elements with a plate thickness between 80-100 mm and a width of 2 meters. Additionally, 47 columns with a height of 3 meters have been delivered to support the balcony walkway elements.

Last but not least, Hi-Con has delivered 14 loose wall elements with a plate thickness of 100 mm for the tower of the building.

Balconies, balcony walkways, and columns for the low-rise building of Fjordtårnet are all cast in grey CRC i2® with stainless steel fibers, while the balconies mounted on the tower are cast in light CRC i2®.
