A BALCONY SOLUTION FOR DIVERSE NEEDS

Located just steps from Nørrebro Station in Copenhagen, Terrassehaverne is a new residential development combining functionality and modern architecture. The project comprises 60 apartments ranging from 2 to 4 rooms, catering to families, couples, and singles alike. Large windows ensure natural light in the apartments, and each unit includes a private balcony or terrace that extends the living space outdoors.

Hi-Con contributed to the project by supplying budget-friendly concept balconies and custom-made balcony galleries in Ultra High Performance Concrete (UHPC). The slim concrete elements serve as an elegant and integrated part of the facade, enhancing the architectural expression of the building and allowing maximum daylight into the homes.

Terrassehaverne is DGNB Gold-certified, thereby meeting key sustainability criteria for modern construction.

A SLIM BALCONY DESIGN IN UHPC

For Terrassehaverne, Hi-Con delivered 74 concept balconies with a slab thickness of approximately 70–85 mm, as well as 16 balcony galleries with a thickness of 65–80 mm – all cast in grey UHPC (CRC i2). We are also supplying concept balconies for the neighboring project, Drejervej 10, which is currently under construction.

The concept balconies are our more standardized balcony solution, offering the same material benefits as our custom-made alternatives. However, they provide a more cost-effective solution with shorter delivery times and easier installation, making them ideal for projects with tight budgets and schedules.

Additionally, a danish study has shown that the production of our concept balconies emits approximately 22% less CO₂ than a comparable steel balcony. You can read more about that here.

CONCRETE ELEMENTS WITH LONG LIFESPAN

UHPC as a material allows for the creation of slim and elegant structures with high load-bearing capacity that are also highly resistant to weather and wear. The material requires no structural maintenance and, with a lifespan of over 100 years and fire resistance without additional fireproofing, it offers a durable and long-lasting solution.
